Glennice Gay is the inspiration behind Glennice Studios and the woman whose legacy shaped the company’s foundation and creative vision. Born in Christ Church, Barbados, she was a resilient and faith driven woman who overcame tremendous challenges while raising her family with strength, discipline, and love.

As a mother of seven children, Glennice experienced hardship early in life. After three of her children eventually moved to Birmingham, England with her ex husband, she continued raising five children on her own in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, during a time when the neighborhood faced poverty and high crime. Despite the circumstances around her, she remained determined to provide for her family and create a life rooted in faith and perseverance.

Her greatest outlet was the church. She found peace in praising God and playing the piano, using music as both a spiritual connection and a form of expression. Her passion for music and devotion to her faith deeply influenced her grandson, Isaac Esau Gay, from a young age.

On weekends, Isaac would spend time with his grandmother learning piano and witnessing firsthand how art could bring people together across generations and backgrounds. Those moments sparked a lifelong appreciation for creativity that eventually evolved into a passion for acting, filmmaking, and storytelling.

Although Glennice Studios now focuses on film and other creative arts, its roots are grounded in the lessons Glennice Gay passed down through music, faith, resilience, and community. Her legacy continues to inspire the company’s mission to create meaningful art that connects cultures, uplifts people, and tells authentic stories with passion and purpose.
